2012 Waste Management Open Gets Underway In Scottsdale

by Ken Schmidt on February 3, 2012

Waste Management OpenAmazing how time flies but but once again we are in the month of February and the 2012 Waste Management Open is getting underway in north Scottsdale. One big difference from this year compared to last is the weather. February in Phoenix is usually very nice but on occasion the cold winds of the north can show their ugly side here too.

This year promises to be awesome. Other than morning frost delays of about an hour the weather couldn’t be better which is one reason why many pros love this tournament. Weather today… sunny and high 60’s.

So far after round one here are some notable tidbits. Ryan Palmer is in the lead shooting a 7 under 64. Last years winner Mark Wilson is at 1 under. Phil Mickelson (-3), Dustin Johnson (-3), Rickie Fowler (-2).

General admission tickets are available for $25 per day with children under 17 admitted for free with a paying adult.

Should be a great weekend… hope to see out at the 2012 Waste Management Phoenix Open!
