Gold Canyon

Gold Canyon Arizona is one of my most favorite areas of the State, I’m not sure if I can pin point an exact reason, but I really like it. Gold Canyon (sometimes referred to as Gold Camp) is a community of about 20,000 residents located 40 miles East of Phoenix Sky Harbor airport. Gold Canyon is nestled up right next to the beautiful Superstition Mountains and the community encompasses about 22 square miles. At an elevation of 2,000 feet it stays cooler (a little bit anyway) than most of the Phoenix area. The median age of its residents is 55 and many homeowners are “snow birds” that only stay for the Winter months. Probably one of the reason I like Gold Canyon so much is it’s home to 3 spectacular, award winning golf courses. Dinosaur Mountain is one of the most beautiful, picturesque golf courses in Phoenix and even the whole Western United States. Most of the homes located in Gold Canyon were built from 2000 and later and all the developments are very well kept.
