World Cancer Day is coming on 4 February with the theme of ‘Closing the Care Gap’. ALLG is focused on recognising & reducing age inequity regarding blood cancer treatments. To help address this gap, we are opening 2 new clinical trials in 2024. One of these trials is for elderly patients who are diagnosed with cancer later in life, and another is specifically targeted to adolescents & young adults who are diagnosed with a type of acute leukaemia. New cancer cases rose by 2.3 % compared to 2020, to reach 2.74 million in 2022! In 2022, 2.7 million new cancer cases were estimated in the EU-27, while around 1.3 million people die from this disease.
