Netflix has just unveiled a sneak peek at its upcoming animation slate, showcasing a dizzying array of animated films and new and returning series set to premiere over the next year. With more than 130 million households tuning in monthly to enjoy its animated offerings, Netflix has firmly established itself as a leading platform for animation. Here’s a look at what viewers can expect, from new releases to returning favorites.

For adult audiences, Netflix is rolling out a mix of action and comedy series, including the much-anticipated Season 2 of Arcane, Twilight of the Gods, Terminator Zero, Exploding Kittens, and the final season of Big Mouth.

On the film front, following the success of all-audience hits like The Sea Beast and Leo, new titles such as The Imaginary, Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, Spellbound, That Christmas, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, The Twits, K-Pop: Demon Hunters, Plankton: The Movie, and Pookoo are set to capture viewers’ imaginations. Arcane: Season 2 — On Netflix November 2024

The award-winning animated series created by Christian Linke and Alex Yee and animated at Riot Games returns, featuring the voices of Hailee Steinfeld, Ella Purnell and Katie Leung.

Big Mouth: Season 8 (Final Season) — On Netflix 2025

Big Mouth is the critically-acclaimed and Emmy-winning adult animated comedy about the glorious nightmare that is puberty. Inspired by the childhoods of EPs and co-creators Nick Kroll and Andrew Goldberg, the Titmouse-animated series follows a group of friends and their hormone monsters as they navigate adolescence, human sexuality, and coming of age. The series features a celebrated voice cast led by Kroll alongside John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, Ayo Edebiri, Maya Rudolph, Fred Armisen, Andrew Rannells and Jordan Peele. CoComelon Lane — New Special Coming to Netflix August 19, 2024

From the team behind the beloved Netflix series CoComelon Lane comes CoComelon Lane: The Nursery Rhyme Musical, premiering on Netflix August 19. In the 30-minute special episode, Cece and her friends want to do something special to celebrate their teacher, so they put on a musical based on all of their favorite classic nursery rhymes. Animated at Atomic Cartoons, the special is based on characters from Moonbug Entertainment.

Exploding Kittens — On Netflix July 12, 2024

Earth sucks, so God (Tom Ellis) gets fired and sent to Earth to reconnect with humanity. The catch? He’s trapped in the body of a chubby house cat. As part of his rehabilitation, he moves in with a dysfunctional family and tries to solve their problems, but ends up spending a lot of time chasing laser pointers. The voice cast also includes Sasheer Zamata as Godcat’s next-door neighbor Devilcat, who just happens to be the Antichrist, along with Suzy Nakamura, Mark Proksch, Ally Maki and Kenny Yates. From executive producers Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the series is part of the Exploding Kittens franchise created by Elan Lee and The Oatmeal’s Inman.

Gabby’s Dollhouse: Season 10 — On Netflix August 5, 2024

Gabby (Laila Lockhart Kraner) and Pandy (Logan Bailey) are excited to get tiny and give a cat-tastic Dollhouse welcome to their newest kitty friend, Marty the Party Cat (Darren Criss) on Season 10 of Gabby’s Dollhouse. Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation are developing an animated series based on the beloved Ghostbusters IP, which will be debuted exclusively on Netflix. Executive produced by Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan, the high-end series is part of the streamer’s elevated family animation line-up, delivering irreverent supernatural comedy and thrilling visual spectacle.

Hot Wheels Let’s Race: Season 2 — On Netflix Fall 2024

Based on the number-one selling toy in the world, Hot Wheels Let’s Race is a high-octane series that ignites and unlocks the challenger spirit within every racer! Jentry Chau vs. The Underworld — On Netflix 2024

The 2D-animated series follows Jentry Chau (Ali Wong), a Chinese-American teen living in a small Texas town, who finds out a demon king is hunting her for the supernatural powers she’s been working her whole life to repress. With the help of her weapons expert great-aunt and a millennia-old jiangshi (Chinese hopping vampire), Jentry must now fight an entire underworld’s worth of monsters while balancing the horrors of high school. The series was created by Echo Wu with animation from Chris Prynoski and Shannon Prynoski at Titmouse. Producers include Wong, Aron Eli Coletite, and Ben Kalina.

In 1914, on the eve of war, a fugitive prince and a girl in disguise meet aboard the bioengineered airship, HMS Leviathan, and change the course of history. Based on the novel Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld and illustrated by Keith Thompson, the series is directed by Christophe Ferreira with animation by Orange. Executive producers Justin Leach and Taiki Sakurai bring this epic tale to life, accompanied by music from Nobuko Toda and Kazuma Jinnouchi. Minecraft — Coming Soon On Netflix

Netflix and Mojang Studios are in development on an animated series based on one of the most significant and popular games of all time, Minecraft. The series will debut exclusively on Netflix and will feature an original story with new characters, showing the world of Minecraft in a new light. The new CG-animated Minecraft series is in development with WildBrain, the studio behind popular animated Netflix shows such as Sonic Prime, Ninjago: Dragons Rising and Carmen Sandiego.

Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl — On Netflix This Winter (ex-UK/IE)— First Look!

In this first look at Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Aardman’s four-time Academy Award-winning director Nick Park and Emmy Award-nominated Merlin Crossingham return with a brand new epic adventure. In this next installment, Gromit’s concern that Wallace is becoming too dependent on his inventions proves justified when Wallace invents a “smart” gnome that seems to develop a mind of its own. When it emerges that a vengeful figure from the past might be masterminding things, it falls to Gromit to battle sinister forces and save his master… or Wallace may never be able to invent again!

Created by Nick Park, the film is directed by Park and Crossingham, with Richard Beek as producer. The story is by Park and Burton, with the screenplay by Burton. The voice cast includes Ben Whitehead, Peter Kay, Lauren Patel, Reece Shearsmith, Diane Morgan, Adjoa Andoh, Muzz Khan, and Lenny Henry.
