CITY OF SAN DIEGO2+ weeks agoAgencyAlert! We continue to receive calls from concerned residents regarding people claiming to be from the "water department." These scammers often say they need to enter people's homes to check the quality of their tap water. They are not employees of the City of San Diego and do not represent the City's Public Utilities Department. The City does not test water nor does it make repairs inside homes. City employees never have reason to ask for entry unless you’ve scheduled a water use survey and do not sell or endorse commercial products. City employees also do not collect water service payments in person. If someone is trying to enter your home, please report the incident by calling 9-1-1. If you have any questions about your water quality, please visit our website: www.sandiego.gov/public-utilities/water-quality15Like5
