James, widow of Sen. Ollie M. James of Kentucky, died Saturday after a long illness. Mrs. James was born in Marion, and married James in 1903 when he was a newly elected Democratic rep-, resentative in Congress.

Eubanks Rites Today BAIRD Funeral for George Francis Eubanks, 66, was to he held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Wy. lie Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was to be in Admiral Cemetery. Mr.

Eubanks died Sunday in Callahan County Hospital. He was born Aug. 8, 1895, in Cherokee County, Ala. He had been a dent of the Admiral community for 50 years and was a retired farmer and school bus driver. He was a driver for the Baird Independent School District for years.

He married Dora Smith at Baird Jan. 1, 1928. Mr. Eubanks was a member of the Baird 100F Lodge 271 and of American Legion, Post 82. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs.

Charles Hounshell of Baird: a son, James C. Eubanks of Baird: two sisters, Mrs. Alvin Barnes of Clyde and Miss Maurine Eubanks of Abilene, a granddaughter, Sheri Lee Eubanks, and a number of nieces and nephews. Johnson Rites Pend COLORADO CITY Funeral plans for John Allen (Johnny) Johnson 55, well known in Permian Basin oil operations and father in-law of former University of Texas track star Hollis, Gainey, are pending at Kiker and Son Funeral Home here. Mr.

Johnson died Sunday afternoon while working on an oil rig 15 miles southwest of Snyder on the Huddleston ranch. Dr. Robert Pierce, county health officer, said Mr. Johnson apparently suffered a heart attack. He had worked in the West Texas oil fields since 1923.

Born Feb. 18. 1906, in Sikeston. Mr. Johnson married Ruth Skelton at Westbrook Jan.

Ballinger Rites For Miss Trail BALLINGER Funeral for Miss Winifred Elizabeth Trail, 68, was to be held at 2:30 p.m. Mon-1 day at the First Presbyterian Church (U.S.), with the Rev. Miss Trail, a lifetime resident, died Saturday evening of a stroke in a Big Spring hospital.

She had been ill the past two months. Miss Trail was born here Dec. 24, 1893. For many years she was a stenographer for the Retail Merchants' Assn. and later did stenographic work at her home until becoming ill.

Surviving are one brother, R. T. Trail of Brady; one sister, Mrs. A. R.

A son, Virgil Ray Havner, lives at 1526 Kirkwood and a daughter, Mrs. J. B. Dawkins, at Pecan St. Mr.

Havner was born April 9, 1894 in Comanche County and at 18 moved to Runnels County, settling between Crews and Paint Rock. He also had lived in Eastland County and Dimmitt. He married Emma Wheeler in Cross Plains in 1918. Surviving are his wife; three other, Dock sons. W.

James, Odessa of Eunice, and Jun- N. ior W. of Sweetwater; two other daughters, Mrs. J. Z.

Guynes of Snyder and Wanda Fay Havner of Winters; two sisters, Mrs. Ader Smith of Shamrock and Mrs. Barbara Tennyson of Cross Plains, 25 grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. Herring Services Set for Wednesday BALLINGER Graveside rites for Kelley Herring, 69, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Evergreen Cemetery, with the Rev.

OR 2-3130 MIDLAND Eugene H. Gresham, 34-year old Rising Star road construction worker, died of an accidental gunshot in the head Sunday afternoon while hunting rabbits miles southeast of here. Mr. Gresham was dead on arrival at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was struck by a slug from a single shot .22 caliber rifle which accidentally discharged at or near a fence, it was reported.

Mr. Gresham, a Rising Star res-, ident for four months, had been visiting in Midland for five days. Funeral plans will be announced by Ellis Funeral Home here. Mr. Gresham had spent his early life in Big Spring.
